Austal USA hosts the christening ceremony of the future USS Canberra

MOBILE, Ala. –Austal USA at this time hosted the naming ceremony of the longer term fighter ship USS Canberra (LCS 30) variant for independence.

Canberra is the 15th LCS designed and constructed by Austal USA and the second US Navy ship to be named after the Australian capital.

Alison Petchell, the Australian authorities’s protection advisor minister, christened the longer term USS Canberra (LCS 30).

Canberra (LCS 30) is the 15th of 19 small floor fighters Austal USA is constructing for the US Navy.

5 are in varied phases of development and a sixth is beneath contract pending development. Austal USA can be constructing two Expeditionary Quick Transport (EPF) ships for the US Navy with one other contract pending development.

The corporate lately launched its new metal manufacturing line to broaden its shipbuilding capability to service the rising demand for metal vessels from the USA Navy and the USA Coast Guard.
